Why you should submit to the Magic City Marketing Awards

A message from Laura Prewitt, AMA member, Past-President of AMA Birmingham.

The Magic City Marketing Awards are coming up soon (April 8!), and nominations have been extended until Friday, February 26th. These awards are open to Birmingham metro-based agencies, in-house departments, freelancers, and consultants of all levels active in the field of marketing during the 2020 calendar year. Yes, marketers WERE in fact active during 2020, despite a global pandemic, working from home, socially distancing, homeschooling kids, and generally trying to stay sane, so if we’re being completely honest here, we ALL deserve an award for surviving 2020. If anything, folks in the marketing field had to do some serious pivots to keep the wheels on the proverbial bus and Birmingham AMA wants to know who did it BEST?

We need your nominations for local industry professionals, young professionals (>5 years’ experience), and student marketers (currently enrolled). Truly ALL levels of marketing are being recognized! Additionally, we are looking to recognize an industry veteran (<30 years’ experience) via the Forbes McKay Lifetime Achievement Award. To top it all off, AMA Birmingham is awarding Campaign of the Year for the best campaign executed during the 2020 calendar year!

Are the gears turning, now? Has a brilliant marketer come to mind as you’ve been reading? Yes? Great! What, you’re not a member of AMA? Not to worry! You can nominate someone even though you aren’t a member! However, when you join the Birmingham chapter of the American Marketing Association, you gain access to a plethora of benefits at both the national and local levels, so you should definitely consider it! Speaking of shameless plugs, self-nominations are welcomed (and encouraged)! Showcase your most stellar employees, campaigns, or toot your own horn! Are you a great marketer? Do you know a great marketer? Did your Covid Campaign rock your client’s world? Submit your nominations today! We’ll get all fancied up, celebrate (virtually, of course), and congratulate ourselves on being AMA-zing!

You can find full details/nomination forms for MCMA via https://amabirmingham.org/awards and benefits of AMA Membership here (hint hint): https://amabirmingham.org/membership. We look forward to sharing with you the winners in a few months, meanwhile please join us at the next virtual (FREE!) Signature Series on March 17 featuring consultant, speaker, and author, Tom Triumph. Thank you in advance for your nominations and support of the Birmingham chapter of the AMA.
