The Director of Member Experience, reporting to the VP of Membership, is responsible for the member lifecycle and executing the plan to drive engagement, value and acquisition.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Defines touchpoints for the member lifecycle and keeps in touch with members at those defined touchpoints. Recommends action plans and ideas when necessary
  • Compiles and analyzes data trends in conjunction with the Secretary and data sponsors
  • Manages chapter data including member list, sharing with other Board members as appropriate
  • Manages membership data – inputs, health, and updates to new members, volunteers, community interest, etc.
  • Helps plan and aids in the membership efforts to bring value to our members and marketing community


  • Serves 2-4 hours per week
  • Attends AMA Birmingham programs and events
  • Attends monthly membership call/meeting
  • Participates in monthly membership committee call/meeting


  • Active AMA Birmingham member (required)
  • Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field with experience in project management or direct marketing preferred
  • Experience with Asana preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Successful track record of building, motivating and managing a team
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, coordinating across a large, dynamic organization with multiple board members and committees
