SUMMARY:February Signature Series Luncheon Featuring Mary Wyatt Crenshaw
DESCRIPTION:Join the Birmingham chapter of the American Marketing Association on Feb. 19\, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Harbert Center to hear from Mary Wyatt Crenshaw\, President and CEO of Wyatt General Contractor\, as she presents\, “Adversity\, Leadership\, and Team Building: A Woman-Owned Business in a Male-Dominated Industry.” \nClick here to reserve your spot today! \nAfter an unexpected turn of events\, Mary Wyatt found herself thrust into the world of construction. When her husband\, John Gary Wyatt\, died in a plane accident in 2015\, Mary found herself with a choice to make: continue the family’s second-generation construction company or close the doors and move on. It did not take long before her decision became clear. Determined to continue John’s legacy\, she took over his role as president/CEO and began learning the business from every angle. As time passed and her knowledge and confidence grew\, Mary initiated a marketing and rebranding effort which led to a newly updated image and name\, Wyatt Builds. Four years later\, with numerous projects completed and a new headquarters downtown\, she finds herself surrounded by the same dedicated team that worked with John for years with one key addition\, her right-hand man\, Nick Miele\, VP of Operations. Recognizing her team as the cornerstone of Wyatt Builds’ success; she relies on their expertise in executing the day to day operations of the company. \nThe stability and success that Wyatt Builds has experienced over the last 4 years is a testimony to John’s legacy and Mary’s leadership. As a woman-owned general contractor\, she looks to grow the company’s footprint while broadening community involvement. Mary is actively involved in United Way and Smile A Mile as a member of their Board of Directors. In addition\, she is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors\, Women United\, NAWIC and Birmingham CREW. \nMary recently remarried and lives in Mountain Brook with her husband\, Jay\, and their blended family of five children ranging in age from 7 to 26!
